Hailing from Des Moines, IA and currently gaining knowledge and rocking out in Massachusetts, Dirt Bones provides folk/blues/alternative jams for your enjoyment. You can’t miss our Ames staples: Lesbian Poetry, Jaw Harp Potential, WILDMAN and Triggerfish.

This week’s dance jam will be supported by amazing local artists Greg Bruna, Ray England and Will Pett! If you are not interested in dancing, come and support the amazing musical improv. This Thursday promises to be a wonderful evening of collaboration.

Held Together Dance Company hosts a dance improv jam featuring local live musicians the first and third Thursday of every month at the Space for Ames! All movers welcome!

Emily Olson will be leading the jam with some instruction. Dance Improv Jams give opportunity to create, meditate, and discover new dance ideas.– Practice mindfulness and collaborate with other performance artists. Bring a friend or make some new!

We are happy to be hosting the release of Jaw Harp Potential’s debut E.P., My Boyfriend, Your Cat.

These three young, ambitious, and talented young women hold a unique place in the Ames music scenery: a band featuring harp, accordion, trumpet, and light axillary percussion. Their songwriting is witty and fun, and watching them is a pleasure.
